Hillerød Municipality is in the midst of an ambitious and rapid development, with many large ongoing urban development projects as well as public and private construction and infrastructure tasks. Hillerød Municipality is seeking an engaged and collaborative colleague for the Traffic, Road, and Park section, who will help manage a range of infrastructure projects. You will contribute to the positive development of Hillerød Municipality in collaboration with skilled colleagues. As an Infrastructure Project Manager in Hillerød Municipality, you will be involved in planning, design, procurement, and execution. Along with five other project managers, you will join the construction team for public infrastructure projects, including public roads, green spaces, land development, and project permitting processes. The team’s tasks include managing consultants and contractors, financial management, communication with citizens and other stakeholders, preparing political cases, and cross-departmental collaboration, in addition to working with external parties such as Hillerød Utility, the Capital Region of Denmark, the Danish Road Directorate, and others.
Your primary responsibilities will involve leading selected projects, such as the construction of shared pathways, bike paths, roads, new green areas aimed at increasing urban nature, and initiating new projects in the pipeline. Relevant projects may include:
- Completing the Favrholm Allé and Landscape (and Favrholm Business Park) project – the project was completed in June 2024, but there are several follow-up issues to address.
- Bike paths on Slotsgade – Frederiksværksgade.
- Local plans, where you will contribute by reviewing and conducting technical infrastructure analyses.
- Private land developments.
Additionally, you will be responsible for preparing political cases and responding to citizen inquiries, including drafting responses for politicians.
Your projects and tasks will be clarified after your start.
You are expected to take responsibility for your tasks in close collaboration and coordination with your team and section. You will have a number of touchpoints and work cross-functionally both internally and externally, as well as having extensive contact with citizens and the business community, which is an important part of the job.
Who are you?
Hillerød Municipality expects you to have:
- A background in landscape architecture, engineering, or another relevant qualification.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in similar public sector infrastructure projects – including planning, design, project management, execution, and management of infrastructure projects.
- A sense of responsibility and familiarity with managing projects in terms of quality, progress, and finances.
- Understanding and recognition of what it means to work in a politically governed organization.
- The ability to think “holistically” about tasks, including considering political processes and external communication with citizens or businesses.
You are also meticulous and enjoy a varied workday with many diverse tasks. As a team player, you appreciate working together with your team and contribute with helpfulness and the ability to build good relationships. You involve and coordinate across areas of expertise and enjoy both office work at the town hall and practical tasks during meetings and site visits. With strong communication skills and a service-oriented approach, you foster an open and constructive dialogue with external stakeholders and citizens.
What will you be part of?
This position is in the Department of City and Environment within the Traffic, Road, and Park section, which handles all tasks related to traffic, roads, parks, construction, maintenance, planning, and public traffic matters. The section is responsible for both operational and construction budgets.
Traffic, Road, and Park consists of 19 colleagues divided into three teams: Construction, Maintenance, and Traffic and Authority. You will be part of the Construction team and work alongside five engaged and helpful colleagues. The team is responsible for a range of construction tasks within Hillerød Municipality.
While there are many exciting projects to be worked on, there is also time for social interaction, and the work environment is informal and pleasant.
In addition to Traffic, Road, and Park, the department includes colleagues in Construction, Urban Development, and Climate, Nature, and Environment, with whom there is good and close collaboration.
How is the work setup?
Your workplace will be at the Town Hall, Trollesmindeallé 27, 3400 Hillerød.
Salary and employment terms will be agreed upon based on the applicable collective agreement with your professional organization. Our working hours are 37 hours per week, with flexible working hours and the possibility of one or two home-office days per week by agreement with your section manager.
The position is expected to start as soon as possible.
