FC Strømmen is a smaller sales and service company, one of Denmark’s leading suppliers of bakery equipment. They offer a wide range of products, including everything from stick ovens and dough mixers to bread slicers and freezing and proofing rooms for dough storage. Additionally, they provide consulting services and service agreements for their products, covering the entire country. The company’s client portfolio includes large industrial bakeries such as Salling Group and Coop. With 16 employees and a sales and service department, the company is ambitious and focused on being the best in its field.

About the department

The service department, which you will be a part of, is one of the largest in Denmark within the industry. The department currently consists of seven technicians, a service assistant, and a warehouse manager, with significant growth ambitions. In your role as service manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing this department and ensuring that it continues to grow in line with the increasing market demand. The department’s technicians are experts in their field and work closely with the service assistant and warehouse manager to ensure efficient operations and optimal use of equipment for the company’s clients.

About the position

As service manager, you will play a central role in developing and leading the service department. You will be responsible for streamlining workflows, creating structure, and motivating the department’s employees. The role requires strong leadership skills, as you will need to ensure good collaboration and shared guidelines for the department. In addition, you will be responsible for a number of administrative tasks, including developing procedures, maintaining documents, working with Dynamics NAV, and planning vacations and shift schedules.

In this role, you will also act as the point of contact for clients, particularly regarding service agreements. Therefore, the company expects you to be visible, proactive, and independent in client relations.

As service manager, you will have a great deal of freedom in organizing your daily work and overseeing the department’s development. Collaboration and flexibility are key, and you will occasionally be hands-on. While deep technical knowledge is not required, a basic understanding of the technicians’ work and the company’s products is important.

Responsibilities

As service manager, your responsibilities will be extensive and varied. The main tasks will include:

  • Personnel management: Responsible for employee reviews, hiring, terminations, and salary negotiations.
  • Structure and workflows: Create and streamline work processes, as well as ensuring efficient planning of vacations and shift schedules.
  • Purchasing and maintenance of spare parts: Responsible for purchasing, pricing, and selling spare parts, as well as coordinating these tasks.
